2

Formation

When ?
As previously stated Jazz originally comes from New Orleans. As the National Museum of American History describes, "The city's population was more diverse than anywhere else in the South, and people of African, French, Caribbean, Italian, German, Mexican, and American Indian, as well as English, descent interacted with one another. African-American musical traditions mixed with others and gradually jazz emerged from a blend of ragtime, marches, blues, and other kinds of music." This description is a perfect illustration of the rich cultural ties Jazz has. It's deeper than just music it's culture its self.
The time period is not a coincidence either the roaring 20's served as a catalyst for cultural infusion but also the great migration of African Americans to northern cities and increases in modern technology called for the exploration of cultural entertainment.
